The beautiful giraffe in question
So last week my brother and I headed to London so he could finally enjoy his Christmas present: being a zoo keeper for the day at London Zoo. Yes, I was unbelievably jealous, but if my brother was getting a day at the zoo, I was too! I almost had a nervous breakdown when the alarm woke me up at 6am, but we all managed to get down the stairs and into the car before 7. We made it to London a few minutes early so we nipped into CafĂ© Nero for hot chocolates and cakes; shortcake for Chester, my brother and chocolate torte for myself (yes, chocolate pre 9am, we needed to practice for Easter didn't we ;) ). Then my dad took my brother off to the zoo for him to start his day, leaving me in Regent's Park. I had a wander around the gardens and then headed in the direction I believed would take me to the zoo but ended up getting a little lost, hence me stumbling onto the beautiful blossom trees pictured above. Finally I got to the zoo and took a few snaps before meeting up with the boys.
I first spotted Chester in the enclosure with the Galapagos Tortoises and from that moment the pair of us beamed all day. My brother adores animals and it made me so happy to see him so excited and content with his new furry friends. The sun eventually came out and we had a wonderful day with Chester feeding, stroking & mucking out various animals. For me the highlight was at the end of the experience when Chester got to feed a GIRAFFE (!!! #jel !!!). It's not everyday a boy gets to say he's been licked by a giraffe...
