Cinderella: Review

Good evening! I was going to wait until tomorrow morning to write this, but I am genuinely too excited! I arrived back home for Easter today, and the first thing mum and I did is watch the first screening on Cinderella.
I am in love.
I think the film was UTTERLY perfect. Like, I don't think I can find a single flaw. Everything was beautiful. The cinematography, the costumes, the make up, the sets and locations. Every cast member was stunning.
Lily James' acting was wonderful. She really was a perfect Cinderella. She was able to be absolutely pure without being, well, annoying! And Richard Madden was a Prince truly worthy of her affection.
We're so used to twists on these tales now that many were unsure about the simplicity of the retelling. But I found it utterly charming.
There's been a lot in the press about the whole 'waist Photoshop' rumours. I don't believe the waist has been edited at all, the dress is just perfection. And I must confess, as a young woman watching the film, I wasn't thinking, 'oh, look at her tiny waist'. I was thinking, look at the beautiful craftsmanship of that dress. Lily's smile is breathtaking. And the take home messages of courage and kindness are qualities of incredible importance, especially to young girls.
In short, everything about the film was amazing and I cannot wait until I can see it again.
Have you seen the film yet? Let me know your thoughts.

Love Soph x

And remember, have courage and be kind.
