Fairytale Fantasy

Wednesday, 30 September 2015

On Saturday 19th September, I boarded a coach and rather anxiously made my way to London town. After a few hiccups, including leaving my boots behind and having to go emergency shoe shopping, I arrived at Brewer Street, the new home of London Fashion Week. It was my first ever taste of fashion week, and I loved every minute. I didn't have a pass inside, being neither an industry official or a famous f-rower. But I spent hours watching the chaos and general commotion of it. I managed to get into the Minnie Mouse exhibit Georgia May Jagger had opened the night before, and ended the day with a talk at the Condé Nast College. This talk discussed careers in fashion, with incredible speakers ranging from the woman who manages Alexa Chung, the creative director of Agent Provocateur and the guy behind that Kim Kardashian Paper cover!
I took around 300 photo's so I've narrowed down some of my favourites to share with you. I can't wait for February to roll around to do this all again, although I might have to wrap up somewhat warmer then!

Autumnal Makeup

If you follow me on Instagram or snapchat, you may have noticed that recently, my makeup has stayed exactly the same. When I was at home this summer, I filmed so many tutorials that all turned into disasters. I normally post them, even if they aren’t great as I’m not an MUA so they aren’t going to be perfect. But these were so unbearably awful that I couldn’t face showing them to anyone at all. It knocked my confidence, and I felt like I was just completely awful at everything makeup and I shouldn’t even try anymore.
The other week I was getting ready and I thought I may as well have a play around with some eye shadow as I was only planning on nipping out for a coffee and then spending the rest of the day in my room. I really loved this look that I came ip with. Perhaps it was because I wasn’t filming and I wasn’t putting any pressure or expectations on myself. I really love this look and I've now filmed a tutorial for it, which will be live on Wednesday. I just wanted to share these photos with you now because I love it so much.

P.S. Please excuse my overgrown brows, I'm trying to decide whether I want to grow them out or not. Let me know what you think I should do!

Up Days and Down Days | Vlog

As you might have guessed from my tweets, snaps, or crying phone calls (sorry mum), I've been having an off week. The thing with depression is that one minute your fine, the next everything feels like the end of everything. I spent most of last night crying and shouting abuse at my laptop, which grows increasingly useless with each passing day. I had originally intended to vlog the whole week in prep for vlogtober and vlogmas- vlogging every day in October and December. As you'll see, I really didn't manage that, with my sporadic mood and general unhappiness. But there are some good moments too! Hope you've had an okay week, and if not, remember that things will get better.

LFW SS16 Highlights

For once, what was going on behind the scenes was definitely far more interesting than what was being shown on the runway. Personally, I didn't find many of the collections very inspiring, and struggled finding enough looks to create this post. I think a lot of the London based designers focus on 'cool' when I like 'Princess'...! I'm looking forward to the jewels we normally get from Milan. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this post and Monday's, which has all the photo's from my day visiting Fashion Week. Let me know which collections you loved in the comments below.

Back to University Haul

A couple of weeks back I filmed a haul after some major wardrobe restocking at Primark. I feared another would soon be on the way, and, low and behold, here we are. To be fair, this haul is full of uni 'essentials', or you know, stuff I felt I needed to ease my way into my third and final year. I promise that there will be no more hauling, as my bank balance is frankly, tragic.
Check out which goodies I got below.

Emmy's 2015 Best Dressed

It's EMMY's time!! I bloomin' love the Emmy's. As much as I love the hollywood A-listers, TV is the real love of my life. And, by extension, the ladies of TV are the love of my life (I'm looking at you Sophie Turner). I feel these women don't appear at enough of these red carpet do's, so I'm always pretty excited about the Emmy's. Once I got over the initial heartbreak of an absent Natalie Dormer (*sobs loudly in the corner*), I was super happy with the glam on offer. I think my absolute favourite looks came from the goddess Sarah Hyland and the effortlessly cool Sophie Turner. Below are my other favourite looks of the night.
Sofia Vegara, Sarah Hyland, Sophie Turner and Joanne Froggatt.
Padma Lakshmi, Morena Baccarin, Maisie Williams and Cat Deeley.
Emma Roberts, Julianne Hough, Giuliana Rancic and Kerry Washington.

Who's your best dressed? Let me know in the comments below!
